Leadership skills, functional or technical expertise, and industry-specific
experience have again topped ExecuNet's annual survey of corporate
employers about the most critical characteristics and skills they're
seeking in prospective senior-management hires. ExecuNet's 15th
annual Executive Job Market Intelligence Report has tracked
corporate responses to that question, and this year's research
again confirms that the most important candidate qualifiers have

response, is really in the eye of the beholder; but the most common
corporate descriptors of leadership include the words, "vision," "communication," "strategic" and "results.
